Leading Italian ISP ITnet Selects Critical Path's Memova(R) Anti-Abuse with Cloudmark Authority to Protect Subscriber Emails

TURIN, Italy - June 12, 2008 - Critical Path, Inc., a leading provider of messaging software and services, today announced that ITnet, the application infrastructure provider owned by Wind Telecomunicazioni, has selected Critical Path's Memova(R) Anti-Abuse C-2000, integrated with Cloudmark Authority, to protect its growing subscriber base from inbound and outbound email threats.

ITnet is the primary business ISP in Italy and is the leading provider of official Italian electronic certified email (Posta Elettronica Certificata, or PEC), representing over 30% of Italy's PEC market share. A long-standing Critical Path customer, ITnet will expand the anti-abuse protection it offers its customers through Critical Path's premium safety solution, the Memova Anti-Abuse C-2000 appliance.

Research shows that over 90% of emails sent are spam and approximately 20% of all emails sent contain a virus. Adding to these problems is an increasing level of sophistication and speed of various online attacks such as spam from botnets, rapidly-mutating phishing attempts and other threats.
