PCCW, DTS and Critical Path join forces again to double messaging platform capacity to more than 1.3 million subscribers for Vietnam’s largest ISP

As the Internet Service Provider (“ISP”) arm of Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation – Vietnam’s largest telecoms service provider – VDC turned to the PCCW-led consortium for a new messaging solution in 2006. The 2007 result was a system able to support 500,000 mailboxes.

This was a turnkey messaging solution that went beyond normal architectural design, installation, systems integration and customer-account data migration – and led to stellar subscriber take-up plus, as a result, the need for expansion.

With the expanded platform powered by Critical Path’s Memova Messaging solution, more VDC customers will have access to a rich email experience free from spam, viruses and other malicious content. Providing support for POP, IMAP, WAP and web-based email, the platform enables VDC to build customer loyalty and provide the foundation for a range of value-added services that take messaging beyond email and lead to creation of revenue streams.
