SysCon Intro

The release of version 5.0 of the Directory Server software sees a new interface for the management of DSA's, called the System Console, or SysCon, which will eventually replace iCon.

iCon was designed to be a simple graphical management interface, to allow system administrators unfamiliar with the complexities of an X.500/LDAP directory, to perform basic administration tasks. However, challenges may arise in the ongoing management of larger directory deployments where multiple directories and Business Continuity Servers are deployed.

To address these challenges, Critical Path has launched Sys Con enabling customers to effectively manage their large scale directory deployments.
